We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Jim Carway.

We extend our condolences to Jim’s partner, Maureen, family and friends at this sad time. There will be many tributes to Jim, featuring him personally and his career and LIF would like to celebrate the huge contribution Jim made to the Luton St Patrick’s Festival for over 25 years. Jim retired from Diverse FM last year after almost 17 years, and this St Patrick’s will be the first without a warm welcome for our Festival Chair and Comms Officer on his popular show to promote Parade Day. We will miss his expert and enthusiastic DJ-ing on our festival main stage, introducing acts and getting the best out of the crowd. Jim was a stalwart! We could rely on him for his professionalism and industry knowledge of all the performers, because he lived for music. We were fortunate to have him DJ our Autumn Social last year before he became unwell and we prayed that he would soon be back behind the decks playing music, but that was not to be. Jim’s passing is a huge loss to the Luton Irish community.
