LUTON IRISH FORUM CENTRE OPENING

The Irish minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern officially opened Kathleen Connolly House on the 8th November 2006. The new centre is the product of a unique partnership between the Irish Government, Luton Borough Council and the Kathleen and Michael Connolly Foundation.

The centre is a full time focal point for Irish welfare and cultural services and activities in Luton. It is fully assessable and has car parking facilities. The Minister said ‘This vibrant centre shows that welfare, social and heritage services can be provided together effectively’.

Luton Borough Council provided the site for the new centre after the decision to close The Drill Hall.
